This morning he wasn’t interested in breakfast. Still very happy to drink and sip fluids on his own and also allows us to give him sips and encourage him to drink. His drinking is really improving.
This afternoon at 12pm we decided to have our own little play picnic like we did in Graz. So we set up a sheet on the floor with various foods and all had drinks out sports bottles. At first Jason walked around the sheet - think he noticed the arrangement from Graz but once Bruce, myself and granny were sitting eating away on chips and biscuits etc. he was happy to sit there with us. To our delight he sat and started eating crisps. He seems to prefer taking things out of packets so we let him do whatever he wanted. He did take a few chips and chewed them and would choke but we knew this was normal behavior as he is getting use to the idea of eating and having food in his mouth and throat. We would then all just take sips of our drinks and he happily drank on his water to get the chips down. I don’t know how much chips went down - it wasn’t much but the fact that he was there, participating and eating and drinking was good enough for us. The water he drank quite a lot of water! He did pick up a banana and pretend ate it. We tried yogurt but he didn’t want that. So all in all a very successful play picnic today!!
Last night we reduced the night feed by 100mls and I will do the same tonight. So tonight he is down to 500mls.
The rest of today no eating and lots of teeth grinding. Not a happy chappy, very hungry but I am happy with how things went!!
We have taken away his morning medication and he seemed fine without it. Hopefully this is good things to come.
It’s also amazing how Jason’s speech has improved since he has started drinking more!
