I fetched the test results today from the lab. It turns out that the H Pylori antibodies was POSITIVE again. The Rickettsia tests were negative which I explained in my latest blog update.
The presence of H Pylori antibodies is evidence of exposure to H. Pylori at an undetermined time. This means that Jason could have a current infection or a past infection.
I am waiting for Jason's paed to advise me further but my gut feel is we should do a stool test to confirm whether Jason has a current infection or not.
I am hoping for a positive stool result - yes madness but this could explain a lot of gut issues and we could treat and get rid of this.
After H. pylori enters your body, it attacks the lining of your stomach, which usually protects you from the acid your body uses to digest food. Once the bacteria have done enough damage, acid can get through the lining, which leads to ulcers. These may bleed, cause infections, or keep food from moving through your digestive tract.
