Our trip to Graz
The trip to Graz went very well. We had to take 3 planes - Durban to Joburg, Joburg to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Graz. This was Jason´s first time on an aeroplane and he absolutely loved it, was such a good little angel. Our flight left Durban at 15:40 and he was very excited about everything. He hadn´t slept the whole day which was perfect for us and by the time we boarded the Frankfurt flight he was already trying to make himself comfortable for his sleep. Bruce and I ran around the airports like crazy with all our belongings. It was so hectic that I wasn´t even able to take a picture of the 3 of us with all our baggage. The Joburg to Frankfurt flight was 10.5 hours long and boy did I think hospitals were uncomfortable, but goodness me, aeroplanes are TERRIBLE to try and sleep in. Bruce and I probably had about 2 hours sleep each. I had just fallen asleep and this idiot in front of me dropped his glasses under his chair so had to wake me up to find them for him - grrr I was mad. We watched the latest Karate Kid movie and tried our best to sleep.
We arrived in Frankfurt just after 6am. The temperature was about 15 degrees but we were nicely equipped with lots of jackets and with all that luggage we didn´t have time to feel cold. We were actually sweating from being overloaded with stuff. The Frankfurt to Graz flight was about the same length of time as Durban to Joburg (about an hour and 10 mins). After landing in Graz we found a Spar at the airport so brought ourselves some ham and rolls then caught a taxi to our B&B accommodation. Of course the taxi driver hardly spoke english and got totally lost then used his garman and we eventually found the spot. The taxi fee ended up costing 40 EURO.
