Today didn't go too badly but Jason still gave me a bit of a hard time. I am not sure if he is not feeling 100% yet or if he just decided today he would test my patience and see how I would react?
The cup drinking has gone out the window for some reason. All of a sudden he has decided not to drink out the cup - grr. Anyway he still drank via the syringe so that was ok but even that he gave me a hard time and refused at times. Before school he wouldn't take his usual volume. At school he drank via the syringe beautifully for Jeanette and then after school again he gave me a hard time stopping at 60mls (he usually does 230mls). He just decided that it was a good idea to pretend that he was choking on the milk even though at times I was pretending to syringe milk in but wasn't and he was still "choking" - yeah right! Then he would accept the milk into his mouth and spit it out. I must admit I was angry with him but tried not to make out that I was mad. I told him that if he doesn't want to drink that is fine and when he wants his milk he must just drink from the cup and I am not begging him to drink. I also left him in his wet top for a while which he didn't like to teach him a lesson! Wasn't happy about that!! Then tonight before bed he drank beautifully again with the syringe. So I am not sure if it's because he isn't feeling 100% or if he is just testing me? Austria have warned me that "ups and downs in this period are normal and when the children get a bit of energy back they use it to start a smaller fight again". It does make sense and I do feel that this is what Jason was doing today.
Anyway despite the rejection of some milk we still managed 620mls paediasure and 230mls water orally so not a bad day at all! I guess it was just frustrating for me knowing how far we have come and going from a cup beautifully to no cup again and then spitting out.
Well Wednesday is polygam in hospital already - gosh can't believe how fast 3 weeks goes. They say time flies when you are having fun LOL. So tomorrow I better go to the shops to get a new dvd and some supplies to keep Jason occupied for about 9 to 10 hours in a hospital bed!
Jason's weight is climbing nicely so we are pleased with that. His hip bones are no longer sticking out and he is no longer looking like a little stick man. At least he has some meat on him again. It's great to have the old happy Jason again. His personality is back which is fantastic.
NoTube (Austria) are happy with how things are progressing and agree we need to continue to get Jason's weight up a bit.
Well time to get to bed. Night night all. Sweet dreams!
