This weekend went really well with Jason's eating. He is doing really well with 4 bottles of 125ml purity and water in between. On Sunday he even had some ice cream, quite a few spoons while we were at lunch with my folks - HUGE smile on our faces watching him enjoying it.
Today went really well as well. He has managed 1205mls orally (500mls purity, 125mls Woolies baby food, 100mls yogurt and 480mls water). Yes Yoghurt and Woolies baby food. At school he had yogurt with the rest of the kids :) and then when I was out shopping today I saw the Woolies baby food range, the fresh foods and decided to buy one to give it a try. I chose the vegetable and chicken which is a stage 3 food. The reason why I wanted to try it was merely to first of all see if he would eat it and secondly to see whether making my own foods would be successful. Well he ate the whole jar like there was no difference between the purity fruits and the actual "meals". So we have a winner. I can't believe how much he ate today actually. His "meal" times fell perfectly today and I had enough time this evening for another "meal". I was debating whether to give him the cows milk or a purity and chose the purity and he ate the whole jar.
So Jason is eating like a champion, opening wider and trying new things. It's fantastic to see. He is getting use to the fact that he must eat and drink now which is fantastic to have.
This weekend he started with a post nasal drip that has started a morning cough. Hopefully it's nothing and it will pass. He always seems to get something JUST before polygam. Polygam is on Wednesday! Seems like he can't make the 3 weeks grr. Hopefully with all the food he is getting now his body will fight it off.
I am just really proud of how well he is doing and every day feeding is getting easier and easier. Besides the eating, oh my goodness the energy he has is amazing. You should have heard him in occupational therapy today - full of beans and did everything he was meant to do. The therapists are very proud of him.
