Our little man is well and back on track. He is doing great with his solids, milk and water now which is fantastic. Jeanette (his teacher) is still working her magic and the last 3 days she has managed to give him 2 bottles (125mls) per day of purity solids with a spoon. Absolutely amazing. I hope soon enough we can do some solids but for now he is having none of it. Will most certainly try this weekend and see how we go. Not that we haven't tried - believe me we have and he outright refuses a spoon from us! We are strict and try everything Jeanette does but hey it's not happening yet but I am sure with time it will. So for now I have been giving him his paediasure in the afternoons. So it seems daily we are managing 250mls solids, 690mls paediasure and about 500mls water. Very good going.
Calorie wise I am not sure if that's enough but he is meeting his fluid requirements. I know purity does not have as much calories as the formula does but hey he is a big boy and he needs to eat solids - can't stay on milk forever. The great thing is his weight is climbing nicely. This morning he was 14.9kgs. I am still giving him nutrini peptisorb at night so he is still getting 600-700kcals per night as well. I want to get to a stage where we can start reducing night feeds again.
Tomorrow we are going down the coast to see granny and grandpa for the weekend before baby arrives. I wonder how we are going to get Jason to eat solids?? Need to kidnap Jeanette for the weekend!! Well we will see how we go.If I don't update for a few days don't panic, we are away and I will update when we return from our weekend away.
I am now on maternity leave from today - 4 weeks to go until Jason's sister makes her arrival into this world. I am looking forward to a bit of a break before she comes so I can get some much needed rest and ME time.
We are just so pleased that our little man is eating, drinking and growing so nicely!!
