I am going to try now quickly while Nicole is asleep. Better type fast!!!
Well my last update we were having lots of problems with Jason's nausea, retching and vomiting and we had just had our octagam dose on the 5th December and left the hospital with the new medication suggested by the team we met in Pretoria.
I am almost too scared to say this but things have been going great!!! (touching wood). I am not sure if it is the new medication or if it is just a good patch Jason is going through. I am really hoping it's the medication!!
We had a wonderful family holiday down the south coast with granny and grandpa at Palm Beach and apart from two nights of fevers and gagging Jason has been well :-). I am not sure what the fevers were all about but the main thing is they came and went. A few days before we left for our holiday both Jason and Nicole were quite chesty and with nebbing and dosing with the usual sprays and meds they weren't improving so we put them both on an antibiotic. I am pleased we did this as they both came right and we were able to enjoy our holiday as a family without any doctor visits or hospital admissions (a rare occasion). Jason had an absolute ball going to the beach, fishing with his daddy, swimming in the pool with granny and just having fun. It was awesome for Bruce and myself to just sit back and watch our kids enjoying themselves and having the time of their lives. We SO needed this!! What a healthy, carefree holiday :-).
When I have some more time on my hands I will update about the last octagam, the discussion I had with the paed regarding mitochondrial disease and the change in feeds.
