Jason is doing really well and continues to do well with his feeding, drinking and therapies. He isn't eating anything on his own besides onions of course but I know that will come with time. Drinking - he is doing really well with drinking his water. He doesn't want to drink his own milk yet but it's great that he is happy to drink his water and will even ask for water when he is thirsty. I have tried tricking him with cold drink (for calories) but he will not have anything else. I am just happy that he is drinking out a cup on his own. I am still feeding him 3 hourly and he is doing really well allowing us to syringe feed him basically whatever we give him. He has stews, mashed potatoes and gravy, thick soups, custard, yoghurt, milk, fruits and veggies. He tends to prefer the milk, custards and yoghurts. I guess he has a sweet tooth like his mommy. If he doesn't like something he takes longer with eating, gets all sweaty and gags.
The 16th September is always an important day in history for us. Yesterday was 4 years ago that Jason had his feeding tube placed and his Nissan Fundoplication operation. Also 2 years ago yesterday we left for Graz for tube weaning. Can you believe it - 2 years ago we were in Graz. I can't believe it has gone so fast. Every year I normally reflect on the past and how I am feeling but this year is different for me. This year I am looking at the future not the past. Our litte man is doing so well we have come such a long way and I am SO SO proud of him. The past is in his history and a very important part of his journey and ours but we are looking to the future and watching our little man grow and develop.
I watched him in therapy today swinging on the OT swings having the time of his life and I couldn't help but think how far he has come and I know how much further he will go. He amazes us every single day.
Have a good week everyone :-)
