I returned to work today. It was great to be back out there dealing with clients and having some ME time and freedom. We have kept Jason off school this week for him to recover. His immune system is really down at the moment and there are so many bugs and sick kiddies and adults at the moment and they are perfectly healthy. As much as I hate keeping him at home we are only doing it for his good. Dr. P wanted us to keep Jason off a few weeks but it really isn't fair keeping him at home all alone. This morning when I left for work with Nicole he was so excited and all ready to jump in the car to go to school. It broke my heart having to tell him he is staying behind.
This afternoon we had to draw some more blood for some other blood tests the doctors wanted. Unfortunately there wasn't enough blood last week to run this test and we therefore had to return today to have more blood taken. The first attempt they only managed not even 2mls of blood. They always battle as Jason's blood does not flow easily as he is often dehydrated due to malabsorbing. The second attempt they were more successful and managed to get the blood using a different method. The 72 hour stool collection was completed this weekend and that has gone off for testing for the malabsorption issues.
Otherwise Jason is doing well and looking good. It's great to see the old Jason back. I am trying something new. I have done some research on colostrum and the immune system and on Friday I brought some milk colostrum tablets which I am hoping will help Jason's immune system a bit. I know he doesn't absorb everything but maybe he will absorb something. I am not about to give up trying and if this can help him build up his immune system naturally that would be great. Colostrum is said to benefit immunodeficient patients, it exhibits antibacterial, antiviral and anti fungal activities, prevents diarrhea, promotes a better weight gain in malnourished children. Colostrum also has the power to destroy the growth of many dangerous bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites including E Coli, Helicobacter Pylori, Salmonella, Candida. Jason has had all of these. The benefits are amazing and it's natural. It's worth a try. It can only help!
