So today was the bone density scan which went nice and smoothly. No sedation needed as it was a simple quick scan. Jason walked into the room, saw the machine and said "scared" but he climbed on the machine, lay down and lay nice and still. The results were good - bone mass appears within normal limits for chronological age. I'm very relieved about that given his nutritional history.
We had a lovely day today. Bruce (hubby) came to visit which really cheered Jason up a lot. He loves his daddy so much. We went downstairs to the restaurant and had a lovely lunch together. Jason is allowed out of the paed ward (we sign out and in) and we walked around the hospital a bit and got some fresh air.
We also had a visit from Ruth (one of the mums from Jason's school). She is such a honey and I just love her bubbly personality. Jason was so spoilt and Ruth brought some school work for us to do while we are here. He has a new little animal to add to his collection on his bed - Shaun the Sheep.
Otherwise we did have fevers throughout the day but in stages. You will see in the picture above - the red ear. His ears have been very red this week and hot to touch. Another one of Jason's mysteries.
Tomorrow is the 24 hour urine test so I will be trying to catch wee all day - not looking forward to this one. Jason doesn't like to wee in a container and be without a nappy. The other problem I have is his tummy as he poos all day. We will have to use a urine bag for him but he isn't going to like that!
My eyes are literally closing while I type this. TIme for bed.
