I have just heard that the blood culture picked up candida which to me is a bit disapointing, I mean can candida make him this sick?? So frustrating. He is on a strong antibiotic and an antifungal already so we are on the right treatment plan I guess. It just hasn't kicked in yet. We shall see what the doctor says about the candida.
I managed to get some stomahesive powder last night to help dry up and heal his peg site and that is working nicely - not looking so inflamed and oozy anymore.
We started feeds last night at 30mls an hour but that had to be stopped at 2am. Today we have been doing slow continious pump feeds and at least he is getting some form of nutrition. Not a lot but hey it's something.
I must say he is looking a lot better than he was yesterday. His eyes have more life in them and although he is uncomfortable and really not feeling great his colouring is a lot better than it was yesterday.
Tomorrow we will be starting polygam. Hopefully that will help boost him as well.
This weekend we had plans to visit my brother and his family for his 40th birthday. Bruce and myself and the kids have been so looking forward to it as have my family and friends but at this stage it isn't looking like we will be able to make yet another important family function :-(. Well tomorrow is only Thursday and anything can happen with Jason. This was just so important to us and we were looking forward to some quality family time and watching Jason and Nicole running around having fun with their cousins and friends.
Thanks for all your messages of support. Please continue to pray for Jason.
