This afternoon Dr. P and Prof B arrived together which was nice to have both together to discuss things. Prof B isn't happy with the repeated urine results. The protein in Jason's urine is still too high. Not on danger levels but as he said it is still too high and he is going to start Jason on medication for this. While we do this medication Jason needs to be monitored and his blood pressure taken every few hours. I don't actually understand all of this he did try and explain it to me but I didn't get it. BUT what I have read is that your urine normally contains a small amount of protein as it is too big to pass through the kidney "filters". When the filters are scarred or damaged they can leak protein into the urine. Therefore if a doctor finds too much protein in your urine it usually means something is wrong with the filters. Prof P is actually a Nephrologist which is a doctor that specializes in the kidneys. He advised me that if the medication does not correct the protein problem then he will need to do a kidney biopsy but at this stage we will try the medication first. The second time that I saw the Prof was when I gave him all my paperwork including my fetal reports when Jason wasn't producing enough amniotic fluid. This was a huge key to him that maybe Jason has had this even before he was born.
He is also not happy about the diarrhea and gagging and said that he is waiting on his collegues in America to get back to him regarding their findings and feelings about Jason and he will follow it up first thing Monday morning. He feels there is definitely something not right with Jason's gut and as soon as he has an answer he will let us know. Tomorrow we are also doing a stool test to test for something (I can't remember what it was).
So we are here fore a few more days but let's see where this takes us. It's strange or "fate" that Dr. P brought in Prof B even before we did the urology procedure and urine test for the protein. I mean he is a kidney specialist and a lot of these things are pointing to Jason's kidneys.
As you can see in the above picture. Jason is also having the same old blotchy red skin, diarrhea, gagging, stomach noises and cramps and his chest sounds worse again. So a few steps back but as some of my friends have said to me it's a good thing that we have the doctors on it and seeing to try and find the cause of all these problems.
I promised Bruce and Lana that I was going to bed early and would take it easy as I had my sinus op yesterday. I think I overdid it a bit by taking Nicole out to the shops with me. Just battling with terrible headaches and light headed. At least tonight I won't be attached to a drip and have to call the nurses every 5 minutes to help with things. AND at least I still have my bed. There is no ways they are getting my bed back!!
