Last night we didn't have a good night. With the great eating yesterday he also had great malabsorption poos. So I was up a lot during the night changing nappies.
Speaking of food, Jason ate very well today as well. We are so blessed. This afternoon my friend the chef (from the kitchen downstairs) came to see us with a lady from Nestle. Yesterday he told me he would bring the contact details for his contact who supplies their gravies and instant mash. I really didn't think he would be back but there he was with the lady from Nestle and they brought me a container full of dry instant mash and a huge packet of the gravy they use. I was so shocked to see them and after my morning and just so frustrated with everything I burst out crying. I was just so touched that they had gone out of their way and done that for us. Knowing how that little gesture is going to help me with Jason's meals and financially help us as well. It's something small yet something so big for me.
So the 24 hour urine collection continues throughout the night. I have put a urine bag on Jason to catch the urine. They don't really work that well and have leaking but I'm going to try and get during the night. So what do the results mean? Protein in the urine signifies kidney damage or kidney disease. The amount of protein usually shows how bad the kidney damage is. The 24 hour test gives more information into the levels of protein in Jason's urine.
At 6pm a blood test was done which was a UE blood test. This blood test checks the urea and electrolytes - sodium, potassium, urea, creatinine and glucose. The results again will show you the levels and kidney damage. All of these tests we are doing combined will give the doctor a bit of an idea of the kidney damage and treatment needed.
Tomorrow we have a GFR test. This test is bloods done after radioactive dye is inserted in the vein. Bloods will be taken at certain intervals to test how well the kidneys are filtering the medicine.
That's it for today. I will update tomorrow. Night Night xxx
