Happy New Year to everyone. Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and holiday break. We had a fantastic family holiday down the south coast with granny and grandpa for a week. Jason was 100% healthy and had the time of his life. It's been a while since we had a break without gagging, vomiting, illnesses and diarrhoea and this week we had NONE of that. It was marvellous to see our little man happy and healthy and just being a little boy enjoying himself. He was spoilt rotten and every day swam twice a day like a little fish. It was great seeing his swimming improving day by day. He started off with armbands on and by the second day he did not want them testing his limits diving under with his dive mask holding his breath. His swimming has come along really nicely only problem is he wants to dive like his daddy all the time lol. Instead of kicking and breathing he prefers to go under and dive :-).
The last polygam was on 21st December and the next one is tomorrow. We had lots of tests done and hopefully I will get some results tomorrow. We did a stool test to test for malabsorption to see whether he is actually absorbing his food or not. We also did a blood and urine test for a specific condition. The blood results are in but we need to repeat the urine test tomorrow.
Jason's speech is coming on really nicely and we are finding we can understand quite a few words that he is saying to us now. We didn't have too much eating interest besides New Years day. Jason had a ball playing with my cousin's two children and when they were sitting together at the table Kiel handed Jason one of those chocolate wafer sticks. Jason took it, broke it in half and ate the one half then ran for his water and washed it down with his water. Of course all of us couldn't believe it!! Kids are wonderful!! Thanks Kiel and Amy!
Unfortunately yesterday Jason started with really bad diarrhoea. He wasn't gagging or vomiting thank goodness and managed to eat all his food. I think it is a bug because Bruce woke up with it at 2am this morning. When Jason woke up this morning he was on fire with a temp of 38.7. I gave him ponado and by the time I left for work it was down to 37.7. He did look a bit dehydrated but we are giving him fluids and he and daddy are sleeping and tucked in bed together. We do have polygam tomorrow so he will get checked out tomorrow.
Otherwise all is good I am looking forward to a happy, healthy new year and I am confident that this is going to be a great year. It did start off well with Jason eating that wafer stick so a very good sign!
