Well it has been a month on the wean today - been really hectic and emotional. Had lots of good days and also lots of trying days but the good thing is we are seeing progress. Even though it is slow, it is progress in my eyes and one day Jason will eat! A step closer to the end of Jason's journey - when Jason is eventually eating!
We had a pretty busy day today at work, school and the afternoon we weren't home until late afternoon. So we didn't get too much eating time in this afternoon. At school he had a little bit of juice and some yogurt (a little). This afternoon he held onto a rice cake in the car for about an hour and a half. Didn't put it to his lips but wouldn't put it down either. He had an ice cream this morning and tonight. When he helped me cook I had cut the onion with him and Bruce came home and I had left him with the cut up onion to let Bruce in. When we walked in the door his face was full of onion - strange tastes!! He loves raw onion for some unknown reason?? That's about all the tasting that he did today. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. BUT I am happy to hear he had a little yogurt at school. He refuses yogurt at home!
Weight is down again. I don't know why it is fluctuating like it is. One minute it is up next minute it is down again. Anyway nothing we can do about that. He is getting his Nutrini (formula) at night via the pump and more than that we cannot do. I am not too worried about it. As long as he is happy and has energy and not too skinny I am happy! At least being around food isn't freaking him out anymore and he is a lot more relaxed and comfortable when he is around food and when we offer him something.
So all steps in the right direction and closer to the goal!! Thank you for all the lovely comments. It's great to hear from all of you!
Well this mommy must put herself and this baby to bed. I am absolutely exhausted. BUT if I don't write the update I will forget half the things I wanted to say and also all of you will get worried!! Night night everyone!!
