Well today finally arrived, it was time to finally go home back to South Africa and boy oh boy were we looking forward to it!!
We said our last goodbyes to our beautiful B&B and all the wonderful animals. Got to feed the lamas for the last time. I highly recommend our B&B for any families that will be going to Graz. We LOVED it there. Some families didn't enjoy it but for us it was PERFECT. We are so use to a "farm" lifestyle and this was perfect. The daily hill walk was a killer but it kept the weight off me so I was pleased to do the hill at the end of the day. If you are going in Winter during the snowing months, I don't recommend it at all!! Jason really loved the B&B having all the animals to feed and talk to. He loved running around the beautiful gardens.
We obviously weren't looking forward to the journey home, 3 flights and 13 hours of flying is not fun! Jason was an absolute angel, he is really a great traveller and not worried about all the running around, in and out of the pram, the noisy airports, he just was so relaxed and so content. We left pretty early for the Graz to Munich flight because we were worried about the fact that we needed to take all Jason's formula back home with us, so we were 3 hours early. Jason was quite happy to sit with us for the 3 hours and we found a really nice aeroplane for him to play in as well where he could push all the computer buttons and learn all about the airport and flying in German of course!! We thought we were going to run into problems when they took a look at the amount of formula we were taking with us but as soon as we showed the security official Jason's feeding tube in his tummy, no problem at all!!
The flight from Graz to Munich was absolutely amazing. I was pretty nervous at first seeing the size of the little plane that we were going to fly in, thinking to myself how on earth that little piece of metal was going to keep us in the sky. BUT it did the trick and WOW what a stunning flight. The amount of clouds in the sky and the snow on the mountains was truly amazing. It took my breath away. Sitting there all I could think about was how wonderful God has been to us, how he got us through these 5 weeks and how he has blessed us with such an amazing little boy. I really felt so close to God during that flight, what an amazing experience and what great closure of our trip for me.
The flight from Munich to Joburg we had a 4 hour wait at the airport but it went pretty quickly. We eventually boarded and left at 22:00. Jason was still awake as he had a little sleep at the airport. When we got into the plane he was so excited to discover that he had his own personal tv and remote and he could channel hop as much as his heart desires. He eventually settled for Toy Story 3 and I put the headphones on his ears and he sat watching Toy Story until he was eventually swaying with his eyes closing. Luckily for us we had 4 seats between the 3 of us, the plane wasn't full so Jason was able to sleep flat across 2 seats and he had a real comfortable night and slept right through. Bruce and I didn't get too much sleep, you can't sleep in aeroplanes, some people are just so inconsiderate. One lady talking on the top of her voice to the person next to her. I heard her whole conversation and this was at 4am! Then another lady decided at 5am it was time to rise and shine and read the paper so she opened the window shutter and let the rays of sun shine in on everyone!!
As soon as we landed in Joburg we hit Wimpy - aah it was so nice to eat bacon again. 5 weeks of no bacon is a long time!
Our Joburg to Durban flight was great as well. In no time Jason fell asleep next to Bruce sleeping and was such a peaceful flight.
Great having my happy little traveller with us, we were so blessed to have such a good little boy.
