Well unfortunately we are back in hospital. I went to the doc this morning. Jason woke up at 2am screaming. He had a temperature so I gave him a suppository and some stopayne and put him in bed with us. He did go to sleep but very restless. Then when he woke up he was vomiting and vomiting and vomiting. I hadn't even given him milk, he was vomiting rehydrate. I made an appointment first thing with the doc to have him examined. As expected there was NOTHING evident and we went home with motilium to see if that helps the vomiting. Well it didn't he just vomited that up and any water he was given. Bruce and I then decided to get him admitted, we were worried about dehydration, been through this and know what happens.
Jason's paed is off sick so we have another paed standing in, who has been fantastic, very thorough. He examined him, took bloods, put up a drip, prescribed antibiotics, did a chest x-ray and taken urine sample for testing. The results showed that he had a little fluid on the lungs, his white blood count is high, his platelets are still high and his iron is a little low. All signs of infection, so just as well we came and started the antibiotics. Hopefully Jason will recover quickly. He was already much better after the start of the antibiotics but keeps getting fevers coming and going. We have stopped all feeds and will see how he is tomorrow. Hopefully we will have a good night's sleep.
Obviously not nice having Jason back on antibiotics but what can you do, after 5 weeks of gagging and vomiting we have been telling the doctors that he needs an antibiotic to get rid of this once and for all. We have been through this twice before being hospitalized and near dehydration and the only thing that helps is a drip and antibiotics.
Well time to hit my blow up bed... only 13 more sleeps till we leave.
