Sunday, day 7

Today was a wonderful relaxing “family” day, for the 1st time in 5 weeks we woke up knowing that we will feed Jason and he will gain some weight today and not be angry and hungry and miserable. It was a great feeling waking up without that worry and stress of trying to get our little man to eat.

Today we knew that we could just relax and not stress. We have set our minds; we know that Jason will eat in Jason time. As with everything, Jason will eat in Jason time and that’s ok!! We didn’t fail, Jason didn’t beat us, it just wasn’t meant to happen NOW. I’m not going to lie, it’s hard ending this Graz trip without the results we came here for but I seriously believe that after knowing what I know about Jason, I really don’t think he would have gone home eating and tube free had he not caught the rotavirus and two other infections that he got. I do think he would have been closer to eating and further in his therapy but I don’t think he would have gone home eating.

It was great sleeping in until 10am and spending the whole day indoors, the weather was VERY chilly and it was great knowing that we didn’t have to go anywhere or do anything. I believe there is snow on the mountains, and after feeling the temperature today, I believe the stories!

We did have great progress today as well with full feeds. Jason put sweets and chocolate in his mouth today. He would take a sweet out of the packet, put it in his mouth, taste it and then take it out his mouth and put it back in the packet. This is huge progress, he is actually tasting and experimenting with new things so this really pleases us.

Hi Jill,

What room are you in at the guest house? We had 34.

Hi Janet

We were in room number 32, just as you come up the stairs on the left.

The room was very nice and spaceous I must say and no noise factor at all. I know the family in the room with the balcony were saying that the animals were noisy but we didn't hear them!
