We had a pretty quiet day therapy wise. Speech therapy was first. Elisabeth worked hard with Jason. He takes forever to trust but Elisabeth is VERY good with patience and is use to temper tantrums, thank goodness. She said it’s normal, he is hungry and it’s almost as if he doesn’t want to give in to us. She worked with a finger toothbrush and another therapy tool that vibrates and this helps with desensitising the mouth area. Jason was doing well but then it all got too much for him and that was the end of therapy.
Psychotherapy was next with Silvia, we haven’t been able to work with Jason in Psychotherapy yet because of him being sick and now because he is always angry and won’t co-operate. So this is more for mommy and daddy to chat to Silvia and we talk about how we are feeling, how we feel about the program, our frustrations and views and really just to talk about everything and how we are feeling. I guess it does help a lot and Silvia listens and advises. She has been with us from day 1 so knows what we are going through, the extra stress we have had with the rotavirus problem and trying to now extend our stay. Jason was happy to know that he didn’t have to do anything this session.
Play picnic wasn’t going too well, he was just observing but then daddy came in with Paprica Nibble sticks because the professor said that mommy wasn’t eating enough and Jason will eat by example. So dad came in and we all ate some nibble sticks. Eva put some pasta in the packet and a few other things and shook the bag around but Jason just fished out the nibble sticks and stored those in his mouth for hours.
Jason’s weight was 11.78 today.
We had a free afternoon after play picnic so went into town with Michael, one of the father’s who is Australian. He showed us around town a little and where to get off the tram and things. Town was much busier than the other day and we did a little walk around then went back to the B&B. I made spaghetti and mince for supper and of course we tried everything to get Jason to eat something. He did open his mouth for some mince but that was it, eventually went to bed with his mince in his mouth!!
