I can't believe it, less than 3 weeks to go. How scary, that is only 3 weekends left! Most people are asking how we are feeling about the trip. Well I have very mixed emotions and they change from day to day. I am excited, I am scared, I am looking forward to the trip to watch the changes in Jason but at the same time dreading going through the process of having to watch my child get hungry and lose weight, weight that has taken FOREVER to gain. BUT having said that I think I have mentally prepared myself as much as I can. We just have to put our trust in the doctors in Austria now and hope and pray that Jason does really well.
At least the gagging and vomiting has stopped again. Not sure why but think it's with the help of vallergan. At least now Jason is comfortable, isn't so sick all day, can go to school, is back riding his bike, doing puzzles, drawing and playing with the dogs. So nice to see him wake up with a smile and waving hello to me. We've had the odd difficult day but nothing compared to what the gagging and vomiting was like before the endoscope. It's so nice to be back at work and Jason is back at school.
Eating wise we have had some progress. The other day Jeanette (his teacher) said he ate 2 flings AND swallowed them!! That was a first!! The other day he tasted some soup by dipping his finger in and suddenly he is taking a liking to chocolate as well. Today I handed him a tex bar, showed him how I eat it and he took it and put it to his mouth. Didn't bite it but I broke off some pieces of chocolate and put them on the table next to him and he proceeded to take the little pieces and put it in his mouth. He seemed to enjoy it. WOW so amazing seeing him taste things and enjoy it. This is why mommy is getting bigger by the day, trying to encourage him to eat and also comfort eating of course. Well maybe in Austria I can try lose some weight as well.
So all in all we had a good week this week.
Lyse the journalist from the Daily News came to interview us yesterday to do a follow up article. The article should be in sometime next week.
