The results of the xrays showed fecal loading, bloated stomach and a stomach and abdomen full of air which we assumed. The nurses have been phenomenal going beyond their duties helping me out with Jason. (They are pretty much family having gone through so much with us the past 11 years). We had a really rough night and got minimal sleep. The fevers continued through the night as well as the gagging and stomach clearing. I was up every 20 to 45 mins.
We are waiting for the blood culture and urine results and the physio only suctioned him a few mins ago as he was too sick to put him through that. So those tests will also follow. Two and a half weeks ago during our last polygam admission we picked up two infections in the nasal passage and E Coli in the urine.
I have seen our regular pediatric dietitian who has evaluated Jason and ordered some fibre to include in his diet.
It's a kind of wait and see situation, waiting for results and waiting for him to show signs of improvement. He is looking a lot better today and I really hope he can start tolerating some pediasure as he's had nothing to eat since Sunday morning. He has been gagging non stop when he is awake and getting blotchy red patches on his face at times (one of his regular symptoms). The fevers have been behaving today at least.
This is him after a nice bath. He is sleeping on and off now.
