He really enjoyed horse riding therapy today and has worked hard in occupational therapy this week.
Occupational therapy notes :-
Jase enjoyed a fine motor and writing session today. We took it easy as I could see he had quite a low endurance from being sick. He needed some promoting to cross his midline to reach for pegs on the platform swing and frequently used his right hand for writing when he was writing on the right hand side or when the left hand tired.
Excuse the spatula (!) but it was a nice tool to use to practice his grip too.
For letter formation practice, please show him where to start each letter (I made a dot in the sand each time) and verbalized the movement (‘down, up half way and over’ for an h). Putting items just out of his reach on the right side is great to do while he is sitting so that he can bear weight through his right arm to reach for the object (see pic).
