When Bruce visited at lunch time he said the exact same thing to me about Jason looking "stoned". This was without me saying anything to him.
He's still having loose stools but at the same time battling to pass. The poor nurses have had their fare share with cleaning Jase, the room and floor. I have managed to escape two baths/hose downs. One last night and one tonight. We (Bruce and I) personally think it's still a blockage. The enema has made him go many times yesterday and today but as I said battled and moaned when he did. I thought he was coming right but the fevers have started again and he slept a long time today. This afternoon I asked them to send off a nappy to the lab as there was blood in the nappy. We are waiting for the results. Tonight his fever is up again. When I got back from home the nurses had changed him and bathed him. Not long after I was back I had to change him again and there was quite a lot of blood in the stool. We phoned his paed and he has added a test onto the stool test. He's added bioplasma to help clotting if there's a problem in the gut as well as vitamin K as a vitamin K deficiency can result in bleeding and he's worried about anaemia. He said he would see Jason tomorrow and said he may get a surgeon involved.
Look I'm no expert. I don't know what's going on but as his mother I know his stools have never been right even with solid foods, no food and tpn feeds. He's had gut problems his whole life and has never had a solid stool. We keep hitting blanks. We've seen 2 gastroenteritis yet Jason has never had a good gut or solid stool ever. We all know how important the gut is! The gut wall houses 70 percent of the cells that make up the immune system - doesn't help Jason that has an weakened immune system which may be guy related or the other way around.
Despite an up and down day our little man is so good, manages to smile and amuse his dad and myself. His new nerf guns dad brought yesterday haven't left his side since yesterday and we amuse him by threatening to shoot the nurses and his doctor. He loves this!!
