Jason is doing VERY well. We managed to get over his bronchitis WITHOUT antibiotics - yippee, fantastic!! Tina, Jason's physio worked her magic by doing physio and suctioning the whole of last week. Physio is amazing so if any of you have children with a chest infection without fevers and the mucous is clear, I seriously suggest physio!! It really works wonders.
I have phoned around for therapists, haven't been too successful just yet but I am sure we will find the right occupational therapist and speech therapist for Jason.
Jason is LOVING school and I am LOVING work. We really have seen LOTS of changes since Austria. My goodness he is full of beans - so many people have commented that he must keep me busy - oh yes he does! Little duracel bunny!
He is still putting EVERYTHING in his mouth, doesn't have preferences, will take sweet or savory. Bacon, egg, mince, chicken, sweets, biscuits, chips, chocolate, smarties. The only thing he wont take is things like yoghurt or custard, anything too liquid. He prefers to self feed. It is WONDERFUL having our little boy with us at the table for breakfasts and suppers. He gets so excited and dashes to his chair and happily feeds himself with his spoon. That alone is amazing, he wouldn't touch a spoon before Austria.
Swallowing is still the problem. He will hold his food in his mouth for hours! Also liquids like water or juice he will hold as well. I don't know how he does it because it must be VERY uncomfortable having a full mouth for like 3 hours, BUT Jason seems to like food in his mouth and we wait for the day when he decides to swallow. I know it will come. My friend Carla said that her daughter, Gabbie held food in her mouth for about 8 months so it will eventually come.
The weather is becoming nice and hot now, real summer weather. We are looking forward to our Christmas holiday down the South Coast with granny and grandpa! Hopefully this weekend we will be able to visit as well if the weather stays like it is.
I really must post some more photos up. Promise when I get a chance to take some photos I will do so! Have to hide the cameras and cell phones from Jason because if he sees them, that is it, hooked and won't do anything else!
